Took a pic of the garbage truck through the window. They come through my neighborhood every Monday and Thursday. Everyone puts their trash out on the curb the night before and it is magically whisked away by DSNY.

I love reading about waste collection in other parts of the world. In our municipality, recycling and composting is collected once per week, and garbage is collected once every-other-week. We find that collection system really encourage people to recycle and compost more.
